Yes — for the right conditions. The strongest evidence covers skin rejuvenation, wound healing, muscle recovery, joint pain, and hair growth, all backed by randomized trials. Other claims (sleep, mood, fat loss) are supported by smaller, earlier-stage studies.

How long does it take to see results?+

Skin improvements typically appear in 4–6 weeks. Muscle recovery and pain reduction are often felt within 1–2 weeks. Hair growth takes 12–16 weeks. Consistency — short sessions 4–5× weekly — beats marathon sessions.

What's the difference between 660 nm and 850 nm?+

660 nm (red light) penetrates 1–2 mm and is best for skin and surface tissue. 850 nm (near-infrared) penetrates 3–5 cm and is better for joints, muscles, and deeper structures. Most quality devices combine both.

Is it safe to use at home?+

For nearly everyone, yes. Red light therapy is non-thermal, non-ionizing, and generally well tolerated. The main precautions are eye protection with high-power panels and consulting a doctor if you take photosensitizing medication or have active melanoma.

Should I buy a panel, mask, or handheld?+

Treat large areas (face, back, full torso) — get a panel. Treat just your face — a quality LED mask is hands-free and effective. Treat one specific spot like a knee — a handheld is the cheapest path to results.

Are expensive devices meaningfully better?+

Up to a point. The jump from a $40 toy to a $200 verified-irradiance handheld is huge. The jump from a $1,000 mid-tier panel to a $3,000 premium panel is mostly diminishing returns — better build, larger area, slightly higher irradiance, but the same therapeutic dose is achievable from both with longer sessions.
